Dear Friends, New and Old:

You don't have to be an East L.A. low rider to resonate with that great old 70's anthem Why Can't We Be Friends.

There is something about animal rescue work that attracts amazingly resourceful, dedicated {even obsessed} people. The burn-out rate is huge, tragic and frequently dramatic.

Good people become twisted and often eventually find themselves damaging their own causes and making things worse for other rescuers.
